The Norfolk Heatwave brand is founded by Glyn Kirpalani, who started making his hot chilli sauces using all fresh, natural ingredients. In early 2010, he decided to bottle it up and sell it. Glyn realised that it would be difficult to source his scotch bonnet peppers in large quantities for his sauces, and desired to keep all of his ingredients locally sourced. As a result, he decided to launch his ‘Community Growers Scheme’, which provides customers and local residents with Scotch Bonnet chilli-pepper seedlings from his own greenhouse, where some chillies are also growing for onsite harvesting. Glyn’s Caribbean Sauce and Certain Death both contain Colman’s mustard powder. Certain Death is said to be the hottest sauce in the county. In 2012, his Caribbean sauce was featured on Countryfile in a North Norfolk special.

It was originally Henry Christian Ninham who went into the cake baking business. He went on to establish the National Works of Ninham & Son, Baking Powder Manufacturers, situated at the top of Ber Street in Norwich. He produced a range of cake mixes, which were not only successful in Norwich, but across the rest of the country. In 2011, Ninhams collaborated with the Colman’s Mustard Shop and Museum to create two exclusive scone mixes, which incorporate Colman’s Double Superfine mustard powder, and our exclusive Tarragon and Thyme mustard powder.

Crush are artisan producers of cold pressed rapeseed oil, infused oils, dressings and sauces, lovingly made in Norfolk. Crush cold press their rapeseed, a slow and steady process, which means that no heat is applied and the nutrients are maintained. The oil is then triple filtered which yields a light, clear, golden oil, whilst maintaining a subtle nutty flavour. Rapeseed oil has a low saturated fat content, high levels of omega 3 and 6, a high burning point, no trans-fats and rich in Vitamin E (which is a powerful anti-oxidant).
We stock their original rapeseed oil, and rapeseed oil infused with garlic, chilli, and other sauces and dressings.

Uncle Roy and his wife started a delicatessen in 1990. Success followed, and it won the award of ‘Best Delicatessen’ in Scotland, amongst many others titles.
Using his knowledge of unusual ingredients, Uncle Roy started to produce his Mellow Moffat Mustards, determined to create something different from the hot varieties. The mustards that he created are mild, gluten free and many have been given Great Taste Awards.
Uncle Roy’s Comestible Concoctions became a stand-alone company in 2004, and has continued to flourish. The family-run company in Dumfriesshire was awarded the accolade of Food Producer of the Year 2012. Mustard has played a vital role in the family business, as have his Mustard Seed Oil that he imports from the only farm in the world where this particular variety is grown and produced. Distributed throughout Europe, the Light & Nutty and the Spicy Mustard Seed Oils are the only legal Mustard Seed oils available – and, thanks to the careful plant breeding that produced them, they are not only the healthiest culinary oils available, but they have also both been crowned with Great Taste Awards.
Tracklements began in 1970 when, having read John Evelyn's Diaries, William Tullberg started to make the first English wholegrain mustard. The first trial saw the mustard seed being put through a coffee grinder, before it was discovered that an old industrial coffee mill could be adapted to grind the mustard seed correctly.
All of Tracklements mustards are made using both brown and yellow mustard seed in varying quantities to give the mustards their individual characteristics and qualities. A local farmer provides organic mustard seed for brand.
