As part of this year’s Museums at Night programme, Colman’s Mustard Shop & Museum is holding a free talk and tasting in the Royal Arcade on Friday, 14th May from 5.30-6.30pm.

Some tickets are still available for the exclusive after-hours event where guests will hear about the history of Colman’s Mustard in Norwich before sampling some of the delicious range of products stocked by the shop. All guests will also receive a 10% discount on any goods purchased on the night.

The event is part of the national Museums at Night celebrations taking place on 14 to 16 May, a weekend of nocturnal adventures as museums unlock their doors for the annual after-hours event.

Nick Cook, manager of Colman’s Mustard Shop & Museum said: “Colman’s is an iconic heritage brand and its identity is really rooted in the city. The event is a great opportunity to discover more about such an important part of our local heritage and to taste a range of speciality products such as chocolate mustard and beer-flavoured mustard.”

The event is free but booking is essential – collect a ticket from the Mustard Shop or call 01603 627889 to register your name.

The Mustard Shop event is one of eight exciting and diverse Museums at Night events taking place in the city this year including: the Assembly House; the Cathedral of St John the Baptist; the Guildhall; Dragon Hall; The Forum; Norwich Cathedral; and the Sainsbury Centre for Visual Arts, making it the biggest Museums at Night programme Norwich has ever seen!

About Colman’s Mustard Shop & Museum

The Colman’s Mustard Shop & Museum was opened in 1973 to commemorate the 150th anniversary of Colman’s, with premises on Bridewell Alley. It moved to the historic art nouveau Royal Arcade in 1999, where it has been based ever since in a careful replica of Victorian trade premises.

The shop stocks an extensive range of powder and prepared mustards, including a number of specialities made exclusively for the shop. In addition, there are a wide selection of mustard pots and spoons, together with tea towels – not to mention a broad range of Colman’s memorabilia. It also contains many items on loan from the archives, covering all aspects of the history and production of Colman’s mustard.
